Research & development

The Research & Development department is made up of passionate project engineers who are specialised in food technology, process technology, biotechnology, microbiology, water technology, chemistry and molecular biology.

Project engineers of the R&D department perform research projects in close collaboration with the professorships. LSR&D (Life Sciences Research & Development) has gained a lot of experience, in doing research assignments for the business world in the past few years. The project engineers together with the teacher researchers and professors form a complete team that can take on and execute research assignments. Furthermore, the project engineers of LSR&D form a pool of executive research members that can work on research assignments, on behalf of the different professorships.

The current LSR&D has focused her attention and based her programme design on the strategic intentions that were determined before 2014. A few essential adjustments will have to be made in order to adjust to LS&T's current course, and to connect with porfessorships. LSR&D will have to develop both thematically and in the field of expertise and competences. Collaborations between LSR&D and the professorships require accurate planning. That's why SR&D will be included as an R&D-team within the Applied Research Centre.

Together with teachers and students of LS&T Leeuwarden they will work together on demand driven research from the business community. If you want more information, please fill in your details in the form below.
